All hail the 6.5 Creedmoor. It continues to perform both on the range and in the marketplace. To that end, G9 Defense just launched a new 120-grain Solid Copper 6.5 Creedmoor Super Match load utilizing ALPHA Brass. The ammunition combo delivers high muzzle velocities and high ballistic coefficient for X-ring performance.

G9 Defense 6.5 Creedmoor Super Match Details

The new G9 Defense 6.5 Creedmoor Super Match load employs advancements in internal ballistics from patented side geometry, according to G9. That technology allows for less friction in the barrel, resulting in faster muzzle velocities, with lower barrel temperature, at SAMMI standard pressures. The metallurgy selection of the all-copper Super Match bullets enhance these properties. The projectile features multiple bands machined into its side. The cuts decrease bearing surface and pressures without diminishing ballistic coefficient.

The new bullet comprises an all-machine-turned solid copper or brass projectile. It offers significant improvement in consistency over traditional jacketed bullets, according to G9 Defense. The machine-turning process produces a round with a lower standard deviation of ballistic coefficient than any other method.

The bullet pairs with brass from Alpha Munitions. Their Optimized Case Head Design (OCD) exceeds performance standards typically associated with cases, according to G9 Defense. Technology blends with industry-leading manufacturing standards to elevate performance.

Editor’s Note:

We love hearing about new tech around here. The 6.5 CM remains a big seller, and for good reason. The cartridge jumped out to so much fanfare, built around a wonderful blend of flat shooting, accuracy and mild-mannered recoil. It makes sense then that the industry would hold on and keep producing new takes on what is quickly becoming a long-range standard. We hope to get some rounds downrange in a test setting real soon to see for ourselves.
